This Byzantine Romanesque Revival church with a complex ground plan and volume is made of red limestone. It has a four-story bell tower on the western side and a sacristy resembling the keep of a fort on the eastern side. The main entrance is on the north, facing the old marketplace. There is a gothic column topped by a pointed arch on either side of the semicircular arched portal with carved jambs and a cross at the top. The initials of its builder, the Baron Károly Hornig are in the middle of the tall gable tympanum. Apse-like semicircular auxiliary areas open from the two ends of the transverse narthex built in front of the central-plan church area. A two-story tower rises over the octagonal church area. There are large stained-glass windows on the eastern and western sides of this on the lower level. One includes the initials of Károly Hornig, while the other depicts a pelican. Twin Romanesque windows light the space in the other four wall sections. A blind arcade runs around under the cornice on the upper level. The apse is supported by buttresses and terminates in three sides of an octagon. It is lit by semicircular arched stained-glass windows that have a blind arcade running above them. The apse is surrounded by an ambulatory. The church area is covered with a ribbed stellar vault. The side walls are covered with Historicist architectural and figurative ornaments, images of prophets and angels as well as Biblical scenes.
